Report: SUNY 2020 Deal to Get Green Light

Think Magazine says gov, legislature have reached an agreement.

A deal has been reached between Gov. Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature approving the SUNY 2020 plan, according to a Think Magazine report.

The Stony Brook student publication reported Tuesday that a key component of the plan, which would keep revenue generated by SUNY tuition hikes at the individual schools rather than feed back into the general budget, has the support of Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos, R-Rockville Centre, and Speaker Sheldon Silver, D-Manhattan, in addition to Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

Think Magazine cited a New York Times report which said the bill would raise tuition at Stony Brook by $300 each year for five years.
