New York Live Blog Set for Presidential Debate; Join Us

Patch sites across the state will join up for one massive live discussion during the second presidential debate, this time happening on New York soil.

New York, here's your chance. As a state we're overlooked by the campaigns unless they are looking to fill up their war chests. It's a given that the Democrat will win here, so candidates don't need to spend their time and campaign cash stumping on the Empire State.

But perhaps one of the biggest campaign events of the season, the second presidential debate, will happen Tuesday on New York soil. So let's come out in force for the event.

Patch's 75 sites in the state, spread throughout Long Island, the Hudson Valley, Queens and Brooklyn, will host a single live blog on Tuesday for all of our readers to join and chat with one another about the occasion. We've seen some incredible conversations in past live blogs, and want to go even bigger this time.

To participate, visit your local Patch on your computers starting at 8:30 p.m., and you'll see our Live Blog post front-and-center. If you've never joined a live blog, it's easy. Just follow along and add your comments in the box. It's a lot of fun.

Also, if you use Twitter and will be tweeting during the debate, add the #NYPatch hashtag and we'll pull those tweets right into our live blog.

Since the debate is happening at Long Island's Hofstra University, in Hempstead, New York, we're going to have a lot of great coverage of what's happening on the ground here. The live blog will keep followers up to date on all of those stories as they evolve.

If you want a reminder, you can RSVP to this Facebook event here.

We can't wait.

I agree..maybe that is one of the reasons road pavement safety lines and striping esp. in the 3VRead More area are virtually non existent!! VERY DANGEROUS CONDITION that leaves the TOWN OF BROOKHAVEN liable involving accidents and fatalities. I think the new T.O.B. highway super, (D. L.) should make this a priority!

So, essentially that first residential home is being written off as the price of doing business.Read More There goes that property value. Other than as a professional residence, who would want to live by a driveway for that traffic? As for the entrance Village Automotive, that will bring even more traffic to an already busy intersection nearby. 25A is impassable/impossible in that area for large chunks of the day now.

The rezoning is for the acres of undeveloped residential land across from Ann Maries Farm stand,Read More extending down to the wooded area on 25A. A one way entrance would be placed by Village Automotive and a one way exit would come out on N. Country Rd. adjacent to the first residential house.

Can you tell us where this property is? An address or street name?
