Computers Seized from Councilman's Office

Three computers were seized from the office of Steve Fiore-Rosenfeld Wednesday afternoon.

Three computers were seized by the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office from the office of Brookhaven Town Councilman Steve Fiore-Rosenfeld on Wednesday afternoon.

Newsday reported that the assets were seized from the councilman's office in Farmingville, though as of Thursday morning, Fiore-Rosenfeld still was unsure why.

"I will fully cooperate with the district attorney, giving them anything they need, any documents they want to look at," he said in an interview.

Newsday, citing an anonymous source, reported that the computers had been taken as part of an investigation into using town-owned equipment to circulate nominating petitions. Fiore-Rosenfeld, whose term ends this year, denied the claim.

"Absolutely not," he said, when asked about the allegation.

Brookhaven Town Supervisor had no comment on the seizure, and a spokesman for D.A. Thomas Spota did not immediately return a request for comment.
