Brookhaven Town Hall Reopens Following Bomb Scare

Police said call came from a location in Nassau County.

Brookhaven Town Hall has reopened following a bomb threat Tuesday afternoon, Suffolk County Police said.

Police said they received an anonymous phone call from a Nassau County location Tuesday afternoon referencing a potential threat. The source of the call and the exact threat were not clear at press time.  

Jack Krieger, a Town spokesman, said employees were evacuated for about one hour while the building was searched. Town Hall was reopened at around 2:25 p.m.

As of press time, police said Town Hall is still being treated as an active scene and the investigation is continuing.
