Woman Attacked While Jogging in Old Field

Police say her assailant was a white man in his late teens to early 20s.

A 23-year-old woman was attacked while jogging Thursday morning on Mt. Grey Rd. in Old Field, police said.

Police are looking for a man whom the victim described as white, five-foot-six, and between the ages of 17 and 21, with a thin-to-medium build, blond crew cut hair, and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a white T shirt, dark colored shorts and dirty grey sneakers.

The woman said she was jogging northbound on Mt. Grey Rd. in Old Field shortly after 6:30 a.m. Thursday when the man, who was walking northbound on the same road, asked her a question. According to police, the woman answered and kept jogging, at which point the man ran behind her, grabbed her and groped her.

Police said the sound of an approaching vehicle allowed the woman the chance to break free and run. The driver of the vehicle stopped to pick the victim up while the assailant fled southbound on Mt. Grey Rd.
