Sportscar Stolen from Setauket Garage
Police ask the public's help in finding the thief.
Suffolk police are asking for the public's help in finding the thief or thieves who stole a 1967 Shelby Cobra replica from a garage in a Setauket home.
According to police, the vehicle, which is black with silver racing stripes, was stolen from the garage at 15 Rack Lane sometime between 2:15 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on Sept. 14. The car has the following license plate: HX24293.
Similar Shelby Cobra replicas from the 1960s are selling for upwards of $30,000 on internet sites such as eBay.
