Port Jeff Station Man Found Lying on the Ground, Later Arrested

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A Port Jefferson Station man who was found lying on the ground on Friday was later arrested on charges of harassment and resisting arrest.

James McGrane, 42, was found lying on the ground near in Stony Brook by a passerby who called 911.

When police and emergency responders arrived, they say McGrane initially said he was punched, and he refused medical attention. Police say McGrane, who appeared to be intoxicated, then pushed and spit on an officer.

He was arrested at 1:30 a.m. on charges of second-degree harassment and resisting arrest.
