Police Seek Man Who Stole Power Tool From Setauket Home Depot

Police are asking the public to help identify man captured on security camera.

Suffolk County Sixth Squad detectives are asking for the public's help identifying and locating a man who stole a power tool valued at more than $2,000 from the Setauket Home Depot over the summer.

According to Suffolk Crime Stoppers, the man entered the hardware chain at 255 Pond Path at around 10:30 a.m. on July 14. He went to the tool rental department and walked out of the store with a power jack hammer. 

The suspect, pictured here, is described as white, between 5' 8" and 5' 10" inches tall and somewhere between 25 and 35 years old. He sped off in what appeared to be a late 90s green Chevy SUV.
