Police Investigating Robbery at Movie Theater

The victim was an adult female.

No arrests have been made yet in connection with a June 8 robbery at the movie theater in Stony Brook that sent a woman to the hospital with a head injury.

A police spokesman said Sunday the investigation is still ongoing.

According to a police report, a thief struck a 49-year-old woman on her head as she was leaving the movie theater around 7:30 p.m. on June 8, then stole her purse and jewelry. She was taken to Stony Brook University Medical Center.

In a statement to Patch on Monday, an AMC Loews public relations representative said "the safety and security of our guests and associates is a high priority for AMC and we are assisting authorities with their investigation of the situation."
