Police Investigating Grand Larceny on Robin Hood Lane

A thief stole tools from an unlocked shed and van.

Suffolk County police are searching for a thief or thieves who made off with thousands of dollars in construction tools and supplies between 7:30 p.m. on July 7 and 6:30 a.m. on July 8.

According to the police report, tools including a rotoring machine, a jackhammer, a battery impact drill and others, along with 160 feet of copper piping, were taken from an unlocked backyard shed and unlocked van at a home on Robin Hood Lane in Setauket.

The incident has been classified as grand larceny fourth degree, which means the stolen property is worth $1,000 or more. The complainant reported the estimated value of the stolen items at $2,500.
