Police Investigating 3 Burglaries in 2 Days

Two occurred in Setauket and one in Stony Brook.

A thief or thieves burglarized three local homes in the span of two days, including one in Stony Brook and two in Setauket, according to police reports.

On Jan. 25, thieves broke into a home on Buccaneer Lane through a window at approximately 12:20 a.m., and stole two TVs, a laptop computer, a camera, a jewelry box, and an Xbox. Two men were seen leaving the house by a neighbor who did not recognize them.

Also on Jan. 25, someone entered a home on Locust Manor Court in East Setauket between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., breaking a kitchen window and stealing a safe, jewelry and a laptop computer.

On Jan. 26, a thief or thieves hit a home on Botany Lane in Stony Brook at around 8 a.m., entering through a window and making off with a laptop computer, jewelry, two TVs, and two iPods.

While the two East Setauket incidents are located about a mile apart, a police spokesperson could not confirm whether they are related.
