Police: Holbrook Man Arrested for Breaking Into Vehicles in Stony Brook

Items stolen from four cars Thursday morning, police say.

A Holbrook man was arrested Thursday morning after police say he broke into several cars in Stony Brook. 

Paul Lewis, 20, broke into four unlocked vehicles located at Barker Drive and Barnwell Drive between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. and stole items including electronics and jewelry, police said. 

An alert resident called 911 and officers Mark Grubbs and Todd Bradshaw tracked Lewis to 58 Barker Drive in Stony Brook, where he was staying with friends, police said. 

Residents of the house turned over numerous stolen items to the officers, police said, and Lewis was arrested at 10:45 a.m.

Lewis is charged with four counts of criminal possession of stolen property. He is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Friday.
