Police Advise Drivers to Use Caution Due to Icy Roads and Fog

21 accidents have been reported in Suffolk County since 5:30 a.m. related to road conditions and dense fog.

Drivers are being urged to use caution this morning as icy roads and dense fog have made driving hazardous according to Suffolk County police.

A dense fog advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service and is in effect until 9 a.m. According to the advisory, visibility will be significantly reduced. Drivers should slow down, use low beam headlights and leave plenty of distance ahead of them in case a sudden stop is needed.

Police said about 21 accidents have been reported since about 5:30 a.m., mostly related to the road conditions and dense fog.
