PHOTOS: Community Gathers at Fire Department Memorial to Remember 9/11
Hundreds of people attended the candlelight vigil.
The Setauket Fire Department has held a memorial ceremony on 9/11 every year since it occurred, but on Sunday, the tenth anniversary of the terrorist attacks, more people attended the candlelight vigil than in previous years. The fire department also unveiled its expanded memorial park, a granite monument with the names of all who perished that day engraved. The expanded memorial was completed Sunday afternoon in time for the ceremony.
