"They haven't given us a cause, but it did involve another passenger car collliding into the school bus," Gildea said.

The bus had just left , which dismisses students at 2:01 p.m. The accident slowed traffic in both directions on Old Town Road but did not force a closure. Gildea said another mini bus was dispatched to take the students home as soon as emergency officials determined it was safe to do so, and parents were notified immediately.
