A man was confronted Saturday night by a trio of men who threw a screwdriver and a filled soda cup at him at approximately 11:55 p.m., according to a police report.
Police said three unknown men approached the complainant near the intersection of Belle Meade Road and Technology Drive in East Setauket in a maroon-colored Camaro, threw the screwdriver and soda cup at him, and fled at a high rate of speed. The complainant said he saw them strike a tree at the intersection of Belle Meade Road and Upper Sheep Pasture Road before continuing to drive away.
The man was not injured in the incident, which police classified as second-degree harassment.
