Lawn Mower, Patio Set Dumped into Pool in Stony Brook

A rundown of criminal activity in the Three Village area.

• A resident of Sycamore Circle in Stony Brook reported Sept. 15 that someone had thrown a lawn mower and patio furniture into the pool at the home. The incident, which rendered the lawn mower inoperable, was reported at 9:15 a.m. and is thought to have occurred between 10 p.m. on Sept. 14 and 5 a.m. on Sept. 15.

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

• Linda Farinelli, 66, of Setauket, was arrested Sept. 15 at the SCPD’s Fourth Precinct in Smithtown and charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony. Police said she allegedly took jewelry from a home on Hunter Place in Commack on Aug. 25.
