Incident Report: Car Break-Ins Reported at World Gym

Suffolk County police reported the following incidents between Jan. 15 and Jan. 18 in the Three Village area.

Suffolk County police reported the following incidents between Jan. 15 and Jan. 18 in the Three Village area:

  • Two vehicles were broken into just minutes apart on Jan. 15 in the parking lot of World Gym in Setauket. In both instances, the thief stole pocketbooks containing credit cards and cash. One was reported at 11:10 a.m. and the other at 11:18 a.m. World Gym manager Gina-Marie McNulty said the gym parking lot has surveillance cameras and the footage was downloaded for the detectives. "We always tell people, and the police tell people, to bring their items with them from the car," McNulty said.
  • A thief stole eight Polaroid tablets from Kohl's in East Setauket on Jan. 15 at approximately 7:45 p.m. The suspect fled in a vehicle but the tablets were recovered.
  • On Jan. 15 at approximately 11:15 a.m., a resident of Hallock Road in Stony Brook reported that someone had taken cash and credit cards from an unlocked car parked at the home.
  • On Jan. 18, a female patron at Loews AMC Theater in Stony Brook reported being assaulted at approximately 5 p.m. According to the police report, the victim sought medical help on her own.
