Crimes Nearby: Two Arrested for Possession of Heroin and Cocaine

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Joseph Rhodes, 48, and Steven White, 36, of Greenport, were arrested Aug. 14 in Islandia at 9:35 p.m. on charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance. Police said Rhodes was standing outside of a Walmart, located at 1850 Veterans Memorial Highway, when he was observed holding bags containing a powder-like substance. White was sitting in a parked 1996 Chevy, speaking with Rhodes, when police officers approached. After a field search, police said they found Rhodes allegedly in possession of heroin and rock cocaine, and White allegedly in possession of heroin.

Eric Markowitz, 21, of Commack, was arrested Aug. 13 in Huntington and charged with DWI. Markowitz was observed by police at 12:57 a.m. driving on Park Avenue north of Sunset Drive.

Adam Rosen, 35, of Commack, was arrested Aug. 15 in Port Jefferson Station and charged with obscene language and gestures. Rosen was allegedly screaming obscenities and alarming people on Route 112 at approximately 1:15 p.m.

Angelo Mosquea, 21, of Bellport, was arrested Aug. 15 in Port Jefferson Station and charged with refusing to move on. Mosquea was arrested for allegedly not following orders on state Route 347, Port Jefferson Station at approximately 7:45 p.m.

Joseph Green, 31, of Amityville, was arrested Aug. 15 in Smithtown and charged with petty larceny. Reports state Green was arrested at the Centereach Mall for the alleged theft of video games. Reports indicate Green was also arrested Aug. 13 at the Smithaven Mall for the alleged theft of items from JC Penney.    

Christopher Danielo, 21, of Lake Grove, was arrested Aug. 10 in Smithtown and charged with third degree criminal mischief. Reports indicate Danielo was arrested for allegedly hitting a Chevy with a baseball bat at approximately 3:30 a.m.  

Andrew Markos, 49, of Dix Hills, was arrested Aug. 10 in Smithtown and charged with third degree larceny. Reports indicate Markos was arrested for allegedly holding an excavator in excess of an agreed thirty days.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and the Seventh Precinct Crime section are offering a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest of an unkown man caught on camera for stealing a video camera. The man stole the camera from at 8 Broadway in Rocky Point on June 22 and is wanted for petty larceny. Anyone with information can anonymously call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
