Crimes Nearby: Restaurant Patrons Robbed by Man with Chef's Knife

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Police said a man wearing a bandana over his face and wielding a chef's knife robbed four people of cash while they were eating at the located at Route 112 in Port Jefferson on Sunday morning at about 7:30 a.m.

The thief, described as white, in his 20s, approximately 6 feet tall, between 180 and 200 pounds and wearing dark clothing, then fled on foot.

According to police, the four people robbed were the only ones eating in the restaurant at the time. The thief also made no attempt to steal money from the store's cash register.

Unkown persons are wanted for the slashing tires of multiple cars in Miller Place and Mt. Sinai Friday night into Saturday morning, Suffolk police said. Cars that were parked in driveways and on the streets of seven different roads in Miller Place and one road in Mt. Sinai were targeted by the criminals, according to police.

Mailboxes were also damaged in the spree. In all, over a dozen instances of criminal mischief were reported. According to police, a small white vehicle may be involved.

Jeffrey Francis, 21, of Medford, and Travis Towler, 23, of Brooklyn were arrested September 16 and charged with the first degree robbery of a 7-Eleven in Commack on September 10. The pair were also charged with several attempted robberies in other towns.

Eric Petito, 24, of Commack, was arrested September 15 in Commack and charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs. Petito was observed at 1 a.m. driving a 2005 Jeep on Elder Drive.

Daniel Sinkin, 23, of Commack, was arrested September 10 on Ronkonkoma Avenue in Lake Ronkonkoma and charged with loitering, criminal possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful use of a controlled substance.

Thomas Gregorius, 18, of Rocky Point was arrested Sept. 9 in Rocky Point and charged with assault. Reports indicate Gregorius took a tree branch and struck someone with it. Reports indicate the incident occurred on Rosewood Rd., Rocky Point at approximately 8:10 a.m.

William Erdogan, 21, of Rocky Point was arrested Sept. 9 in Rocky Point and charged with assault. Reports indicate Erdogan, accompanied by Gregorius, allegedly struck someone with a tree branch. The incident occurred at approximately 8:10 a.m. on Rosewood Rd., Rocky Point.

Rafael Gonzalez, 53, of Port Jefferson Station, was arrested Sept. 8 in Port Jefferson Station and charged with fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon. Gonzalez was arrested for the alleged threat with a steak knife to another male on Route 112, Port Jefferson Station.
