Crimes Nearby: Nesconset Man Charged with Leaving Scene of Fatal Accident

Smithtown
Craig Williams, 38, of Nesconset, was arrested Sept. 29 and charged with leaving the scene of an accident. Police said Williams was driving a 2006 Honda eastbound on Nesconset Highway when he fatally hit pedestrian Thomas Wik Jr., 23, of Nesconset at approximately 4:50 a.m.. Williams allegedly left the scene of the crash, and was arrested a short time later by police.

Two men were arrested on Sept. 28 in Port Jefferson Station and charged with criminal possession of stolen property. Alexander Gentile, 26, of Lake Ronkonkoma, and Michael Wisnieski, 25, of Port Jefferson Station, allegedly had stolen gardening and construction tools stashed at an apartment on Greenhaven Drive and in a car.

Rachel Taddonio, 27, of Miller Place, was arrested Sept. 25 at the Suffolk County Precinct Department Sixth Precinct in Selden and charged with fifth degree criminal possession of stolen property, a misdemeanor. She is alleged to have knowingly possessed stolen property from Pawn Brokers of America on Medford Avenue in Patchogue.
