Crimes Nearby: Brentwood Pair Charged in Smithtown Robberies

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department.

Police arrested two Brentwood individuals after they allegedly robbed three gas stations last week, armed with weapons. Lynteenie Codner, 21, was arrested in Smithtown on Nov. 14 on three counts of first degree robbery while displaying a firearm and one count of third degree robbery, all felonies. Stephanie Machado, 19, was arrested in Smithtown on Nov. 14 on two counts of first degree robbery while displaying a firearm and one count of third degree robbery, all felonies. Reports state Codner and Machado displayed a firearm at an undisclosed Gulf gas station on Sept. 29 and robbed the store of money. According to reports, Codner and Machado also displayed a firearm and robbed cash from an undisclosed Mobil gas station on Sept. 30 and Monte's Service Station in North Babylon on Sept. 13.

Samantha Cotroneo, 21, of Mt. Sinai, was arrested Nov. 16 in Centereach and charged with petty larceny, a misdemeanor, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. According to police, Cotroneo was arrested at the Centereach Mall at 5 p.m. with a quantity of heroin. She allegedly tested positive for heroin and also took health and beauty products from the Walmart in the Centereach Mall.

Philip Lurie, 20, of Port Jefferson Station, was arrested Nov. 17 in Port Jefferson Station and charged with assault, a misdemeanor. At about 12:30 a.m., Lurie allegedly punched and kicked a 19-year-old man at a house on Kool Place. He was arrested by police six hours later on North Country Road in Port Jefferson. According to court records, Lurie was released on his own recognizance on Nov. 17. He is due back in court on Dec. 4.
