Crimes: Assault, Prescription Drug Charges Among Recent Arrests

SMITHTOWN

Joseph Pertusiello, 22, of Smithtown, was arrested in Smithtown on March 26 on second-degree harassment charges. Reports state Pertusiello punched a male victim in the face in Hauppauge at 4:50 p.m.

Richard Carpenter, 48, of St. James, was arrested on March 27 in St. James on assault three with intent to cause physical injury charges. Reports state Carpenter was arrested at his home for kicking a male victim in his hands.

Margaret Ellen Hinton, 47, of Commack, was arrested in Smithtown on March 29 at 6:45 p.m. on petty larceny charges. Reports state Hinton stole grocery items from Stop & Shop on West Main Street.

Daniel Quigley, 25, of Smithtown, was arrested on March 27 at 7 p.m. on seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance charges. Reports state Quigley was arrested at his home with prescription pills.

Sondra Morris, 51, of Huntington Station, was arrested at the precinct in Smithtown on March 27 for trespassing. Reports state Morris was trespassing on Indian Head Road.

Michael Hayes, 27, of Smithtown, was arrested in Smithtown on March 27 on seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance charges. Reports state Hayes was arrested at 7 p.m. in a 2007 Acura.

Chris McGinty, 37, of Mt. Sinai, was arrested March 24 and charged with burglary. He was arrested on Canal Road in Mt. Sinai after allegedly entering Tire City through a side window and stealing unkown property.

After being arrested last summer on multiple felony charges related to an ongoing mortgage fraud investigation, a Mount Sinai real estate attorney will be arraigned in Riverhead Tuesday on a grand jury indictment. Craig Hecht, 44, of Mt. Sinai, was arrested last July and charged with first-degree falsifying business records, second-degree grand larceny and first-degree scheme to defraud.

KINGS PARK

Joseph Vitolo, 33, of Kings Park, was charged with possession of a hypodermic needle and grand larceny. Police said Vitolo removed two televisions from a home in Kings Park.

[Redacted], 29, of Kings Park, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance. Police said that [Redacted] criminally possessed prescription drugs on March 20 at 11:15 a.m. on Walnut Street in Kings Park.

COMMACK

Arthur Peragine, 33, of East Northport was arrested March 28 and charged with petty larceny. Police said Peragine took various clothing from on Veterans Memorial Highway without paying for it. Peragine was also arrested March 29 and charged with petty larceny. He was arrested on the corner of Jericho Turnpike and Townline Road. Police said he stole protein bars and other food items from a nearby
