Crime Report: Two Arrested for Fleeing an Accident Scene in Separate Incidents

A blotter of the latest arrests in Three Village.

The Suffolk County Police Department Sixth Precinct reported these arrests in Three Village between Jan. 23 and Feb. 4:

Joel Katims, age unknown, of Stony Brook was arrested Feb. 1 in Selden and charged with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident. Reports state Katims allegedly fled the scene of a motor vehicle crash on Nov. 19, 2010 at 5:40 p.m., during which a pedestrian was struck and injured.

Rachel Gabrielsen, 19, of South Setauket was arrested Jan. 27 in Selden and charged with petit larceny. Reports state Gabrielsen took jewelry belonging to a male without permission.

Amanda Cowan, 20, of Setauket was arrested Jan. 26 in Setauket and charged with petit larceny. Reports state Cowan allegedly stole a shirt and cosmetics from a store located at 3990 Nesconset Highway.   

A seventeen-year-old male from Setauket was arrested Jan. 25 in East Setauket and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. Reports state the male, who was in a 1993 Plymouth parked in a parking lot, was in possession of marijuana.

Fong Kwok, 23, of Lake Grove was arrested Jan. 25 in Setauket and charged with petit larceny and resisting arrest. Reports state at approximately 1:55 p.m. Kwok was allegedly shoplifting at a store located at 265 Pond Path. Reports state Kwok fled from an officer in the parking lot.   

Gennaro Risco, 42, of Setauket was arrested Jan. 25 in Selden and charged with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident. Reports state Risco was operating a 2006 Ford at approximately 1:10 p.m. on Dec. 2, 2010 when he allegedly collided with a 2011 Ford and fled the scene. 

Brendan Sullivan, 21, of Stony Brook was arrested Jan. 25 in East Setauket and charged with criminal possession of a weapon, and criminal contempt. Reports state Sullivan was allegedly in possession of metal knuckles while disobeying a court order of protection. 

Daniel Marciano, 27, of Sound Beach was arrested Jan. 21 in Setauket and charged with petit larceny. Reports state Marciano allegedly stole a television from BJ’s Wholesale Club in Setauket.

None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime, but were arrested for the charges listed above. They are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. If any of the above charges have been acquitted, one must e-mail the writer and provide proof of dismissal.
