Crime Report: Theft of an African Fish Among Assorted Petit Larceny Arrests

A blotter of the latest arrests and incidents in Three Village.

The Suffolk County Police Department's Sixth Precinct reported these arrests in Three Village from Feb. 16-21:

A 17-year-old male from Stony Brook was arrested Feb. 21 in Stony Brook and charged with petit larceny, false impersonation, and possession of marijuana. Reports state the teen allegedly stole a cell phone from an unknown person, was in possession of marijuana, and used a false name upon his arrest.     

Eugene Gotch, 40, of Middle Island was arrested Feb. 16 in South Setauket and charged with petit larceny. Reports state Gotch allegedly stole joyce hangers at approximately 2:50 p.m. from a store on Pond Path in Setauket.

A 17-year-old male from South Setauket was arrested Feb. 16 in Setauket and charged with loitering and unlawful use of a controlled substance. Reports state the teen allegedly possessed adderall.     

Vlad Gulyansky, 37, of Stony Brook was arrested Feb. 16 in Selden and charged with petit larceny. Reports state Gulyansky was arrested for the alleged theft of an African fish from an unknown store.

Tara Murphy, 18, of Mount Sinai was arrested Feb. 16 in South Setauket and charged with petit larceny. Reports state Murphy was arrested at 3990 Route 347, South Setauket at approximately 3:45 p.m. for the alleged theft of miscellaneous cosmetics from an unknown store.    

None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime, but were arrested for the charges listed above. They are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.  If any of the above charges have been acquitted, for removal from publication one must e-mail the writer and provide proof of dismissal.
