Crime Report: Police Make Multiple DWI Arrests

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Christopher Lee, 27, of St. James, was arrested Aug. 19 in Setauket and charged with first-offense DWI. Lee was stopped for speeding in Setauket after police observed him allegedly driving above the speed limit on West Broadway in Port Jefferson at 3:25 a.m.

Christine Caroto, 45, of East Setauket, was arrested Aug. 19 in Terryville and charged with first-offense DWI. Caroto was stopped on northbound Old Town Road at Linda Street after police observed her allegedly speeding and failing to stay in her lane at 2:35 a.m.

Christopher Meister, 27, of Ronkonkoma, was arrested Aug. 19 in Stony Brook and harged with first-offense DWI. Meister was stopped at Route 25A and Nicolls Road after allegedly making an improper turn at 2:41 a.m.

Maria Grogul, 49, of Stony Brook, was arrested Aug. 22 in Smithtown and charged with first-offense DWI. Grogul was stopped after allegedly making a right-hand turn from a left turning lane and striking a curb on Edgewood Ave. at 11:42 p.m.

Louis Alfano, 46, of East Setauket, was arrested Aug. 23 in Selden and charged with third-degree grand larceny. According to police, Alfano stole jewelry from a residence on Glenwood Lane in Port Jefferson between July 2 and Aug. 2.

I agree..maybe that is one of the reasons road pavement safety lines and striping esp. in the 3VRead More area are virtually non existent!! VERY DANGEROUS CONDITION that leaves the TOWN OF BROOKHAVEN liable involving accidents and fatalities. I think the new T.O.B. highway super, (D. L.) should make this a priority!

So, essentially that first residential home is being written off as the price of doing business.Read More There goes that property value. Other than as a professional residence, who would want to live by a driveway for that traffic? As for the entrance Village Automotive, that will bring even more traffic to an already busy intersection nearby. 25A is impassable/impossible in that area for large chunks of the day now.

The rezoning is for the acres of undeveloped residential land across from Ann Maries Farm stand,Read More extending down to the wooded area on 25A. A one way entrance would be placed by Village Automotive and a one way exit would come out on N. Country Rd. adjacent to the first residential house.
