Crime Report: DWI, Assault, Resisting Arrest Among Recent Arrests

A blotter of the latest arrests and incidents in Three Village.

The Suffolk County Police Department's Sixth Precinct reported these arrests in Three Village from Feb. 4 to Feb. 11:

Daniel Loeser, 44, of Ridge was arrested Feb. 5 in Stony Brook and charged with first offense DWI and criminal possession of a controlled substance. Reports state Loeser was arrested after an officer stopped his 2001 Dodge on Nicolls Road. Loeser was allegedly intoxicated and had an unknown pill in his possession.

Michael Mandel, 44, of Stony Brook was arrested Feb. 4 in Centereach and charged with third degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Reports state Mandel was arrested on Hammond Rd., Centereach when we was allegedly operating his 1992 Ford without a license.

Walter Jacobs, 46, of Mineola was arrested Feb. 4 in South Setauket and charged with petit larceny. Reports state Jacobs was arrested at Stop and Shop, located on Pond Path in Setauket. Police said Jacobs allegedly stole assorted items, including  DVDs, toilet paper, paper towels, and laundry soap. 

Matthew Ruiz, 20, of Centereach was arrested Feb. 4 in Stony Brook and charged with assault. Reports state Ruiz was arrested on Route 347 in Stony Brook after he allegedly got into a fight with an unknown person.

Anthony Dinicola, 20, of Centereach was arrested Feb. 4 in Stony Brook and charged with second degree harassment and resisting arrest. Reports state Dinicola was arrested in Stony Brook after he was allegedly involved in a fight with a police officer. 

None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime, but were arrested for the charges listed above. They are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. If any of the above charges have been acquitted, for removal from publication one must e-mail the writer and provide proof of dismissal.
