Crime Report: Cops Make DWI Arrests, Investigate Burglary
The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED
Dwayne Douglas, 48, of East Setauket, was arrested June 16 in Setauket and charged with aggravated DWI, a misdemeanor. Police stopped him on Old Town Road north of Route 347 at shortly after 1 a.m., saying he was driving erratically.
Steven Trinkle, 23, of Stony Brook, was arrested June 15 in Smithtown and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Police arrested him at 1 a.m. during a sobriety checkpoint in front of St. Patrick's Church on Main Street.
BURGLARY
A resident of Bentley Lane in Stony Brook reported finding a person in his bedroom on June 15. The resident recognized the man as a landscaper and questioned him; police said the man entered the house through an unlocked living room window. Though the incident is being considered a burglary, nothing was taken and no arrests were made.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
A man dining at a restaurant on Route 347 in East Setauket returned to his car to discover it had been keyed. The damage to the car, a 2000 Porsche, was reported at 8:25 p.m.
