Crime Report: Alleged DWI Driver Flees Accident Scene
The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
Tara Miller, 41, of Stony Brook, was arrested July 4 at 10:49 p.m. at the corner of Christian Ave. and Lake Ave. in Setauket. According to police, Miller was involved in a motor vehicle crash at West Meadow Beach and fled the scene. Police charged her with first-offense DWI.
On July 6, a resident of Lodge Lane in East Setauket reported that an unknown person smashed the windshield of a 1997 Volkswagon parked in the driveway at about 12:10 a.m.
On July 6, a resident of Montpelier Court in East Setauket reported that an unknown person set off fireworks on the hood of a vehicle parked in the driveway at about 12:30 a.m.

On July 6, a resident of Franklin Ave. in Setauket reported that an unknown person kicked the PVC fence and damaged its frame sometime between 12 p.m. and 3 p.m.
On July 5, an unknown person broke open the back door of a home on Black Locust Ave. in Setauket and stole a jewelry box and cash between 8:35 a.m. and 3:35 p.m. Police are investigating the incident as second-degree burglary.

On July 3, a complainant called at 2:24 a.m. to report the tires had been slashed on his Chevrolet Tahoe in the parking lot of the AMC Loews Movie Theater in Stony Brook.
On July 2, a resident of Houghton Blvd. in Stony Brook said an unknown person hit the mailbox and knocked it off its post between the hours of 7 p.m. on July 1 and 6 a.m. on July 2.
