Cops: Woman Shoplifted 2 Purses [VIDEO]

Bags from The Perfect Purse valued at $4,300.

Southampton Village police say an unidentified woman stole two valuable bags from The Perfect Purse on Oct. 25, and now detectives are asking the public to help identify the suspect.

The woman walked into the Hampton Road shop and took the leather purses — a black 10-inch Chanel double flap bag valued at $3,600 and a gold-colored Hermès imitation Birkin bag valued at $700 — while the staff were distracted, according to police.

The incident occurred at 1:45 p.m., and the suspect's face was caught on security camera.

Anyone with information is asked to call Det. Bernard J. Bobinski at 631-283-0083 ext. 247, or the Southampton Village Police Department Detective Division at 631-283-0056. All calls will remain confidential, police said.

Hello. I am the owner of The Perfect Purse and posted the two (lengthy) videos of this theft. I mentioned in one of my comments above that CRIME STOPPERS is offering a reward for her capture, but I was just imformed from a reporter at the SH Press that Crime Stoppers is NOT involved in my theft, although they are involved in a theft from Rose Jewelers the previous week from a lesser value than the purses she stole from this store. The SH police say they have no control over what is picked up by crime stoppers. Sorry for the misinformation above but I thought they would cover my theft since I pay taxes just the same as Rose Jewelers. Go figure.

Well, hopefully someone who recognizes her will call and report her and you'll be compensated by the Crime Victims Unit and reimbursed your loss. Good Luck and be well.

Sorry to hear about the theft in your store. For many years there has been professional shop lifters running around this shopping village. In fact the same ones continue to come back. Unless we start up some kind of "neighborhood watch" (as Jaguar-Guy mentioned) we will continue to be a easy mark for them.

Mr. Stolz, sorry for your loss, maybe providence will return it back... but i wish to share with you what a Tibetan lama once said to me after i lost thousands of dollars worth of stuff in my basement flood... he said "It's your karma, you merited this by your previous actions + now must learn that matter is impermanent; detach from grasping + think instead, i deserve everything i get + it will stop hurting".
