Cops: Thief Stole Generator from Residential Driveway

Incident took place Nov. 2.

Since Hurricane Sandy tore through Long Island, at least one instance of a generator being stolen has been reported in Three Village, according to Suffolk police.

Police say an unknown person stole a generator from a home at approximately 2 a.m. on Dyke Road in Strong's Neck on Nov. 2. The generator was sitting in the driveway of the home; the thief fled in an unknown vehicle.

The incident is being investigated as an incident of fourth-degree grand larceny. Anyone with information on this incident can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS; all calls will be kept confidential.
