Suffolk police are seeking help locating a man who they say broke into a vehicle in Kings Park and then returned a stolen item to PC Richard in Stony Brook on Nov. 13.
Two GPS devices, a cell phone, CDs and a DVD player were stolen from a car parked in front of a home on Longfellow Drive in Kings Park on Nov. 12. According to police, the DVD player was accompanied by a receipt, which the thief used to return it at the store the following day.
The incident is being investigated as a case of criminal possession of stolen property.
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Call 1-800-220-TIPS and tips are kept confidential.
