Cops Seek Credit Card Thief Who Charged More Than $4K

Unknown man made unauthorized purchases at Best Buy and Target.

Police say a man used a stolen credit card to make more than $4,400 in unauthorizing purchases at Target and Best Buy in South Setauket.

The man used the stolen credit card on or around Oct. 7, according to police. He charged $1,846 at Target and additional purchase at Best Buy, both located on Pond Path.

According to the report, the suspect also attempted to make a purchase at Target in Medford, but the transaction was denied. The man was caught on security cameras.

The incident is being investigated as grand larceny.
