UPDATE: Lake Grove Man Shot in the Head

A man suffered a head wound while standing outside his home on Stony Brook Road Friday night; police are investigating.

Updated, Saturday 9:20 a.m.: Police are seeking information from the public as they continue investigating a shooting Friday night that left a Lake Grove man with a non-life threatening head wound.

According to Suffolk County Police, 33-year-old Marvin Gonzalez was standing outside his Stony Brook Road home around 8:30 p.m. when he was shot twice – once in the head and once in the leg.

The shooter – or shooters – fled the scene, and Gonzalez was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was treated.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8451 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
