Cops: E. Setauket Woman Injured in DWI Crash

Suffolk County Police said a woman was sent to Stony Brook University Medical Center with serious injuries after being hit by a drunk driver; a passenger in the vehicle was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

An East Setuaket woman was sent to the hospital shortly after midnight on Wednesday and suffered serious injuries after police say a drunk driver slammed into her car.

The accident occurred at the intersection of Holbrook Road and the North Service Road of the Long Island Expressway. Police say James O'Donnell, 47, was headed northbound on Holbrook Road in a 1995 Mercury Marquis when he struck a 2005 Lincoln, travelling westbound on the service road, driven by 26-year-old Kristen Iacono.

Iacono, of East Setauket, suffered serious injuries in the crash and was transported to Stony Brook University Medical Center via Ronkonkoma Rescue. A passenger in Iacono's car, Joseph Kemp, 30, of Holbrook, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at the hospital.
