Accident Shuts Northbound Nicolls Road Sunday Night

Two drivers sent to Stony Brook University Medical Center with injuries.

A two-car accident in which one vehicle flipped onto its side shut down northbound Nicolls Road on Sunday night for about half an hour, according to police reports.

The collision happened at about 7:45 p.m. near the south entrance of Stony Brook University, and sent two drivers to Stony Brook University Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation.
