Getting Stones In Hines Park

Getting Stones in Plymouth Twp's Hines Park.

Nature is as close to paradise as most of us will ever get.  So when plans are announced to pave over it, nature lovers naturally recoil at the suggestion.  According to a Detroit Free Press article dated February 6, 2013, that's what the future holds for Hines Park at Haggerty Road in Plymouth Township.

Leave it to the government and Wayne County's questionnable spendthrift, Robert Ficano, to once again not only use taxpayer money unwisely but to also take our precious resource like land in Hines Park and build stone monuments to pay homage to ..... well, to anyone.

With $250,000 of taxpayer's money, the serene beauty that only nature can provide will be replaced by concrete walkways, concrete sitting slabs, a concrete parking lot and electric lighting poles shooting up amongst the trees.  The destruction is set to begin May 1st and will take 4 months during nature lovers prime season:  summer.

Ahh, the smells of diesel fuel and the sight of earth gouging bulldozers.  Is this a wise investment in all of our futures??

One has to ask themselves:  How did this happen?  Who gave permission to transform our land into a place of stone?  Lastly, can nature lovers rally together to prevent this?  Time is ticking.

Hmmmm....sounds like somebody got a nice contract as a reward for a political "contribution".
