TVCSD Standardized Test Scores

Yesterday the NYS Education Department posted our children’s performance on the most recent NYS testing.  The results revealed that many of our children are not meeting the state standards.  If we look specifically at 8th grade math in TVCSD, 54.1% are only partially or not meeting the standards at all.

Before you adopt the mindset that the test was ‘unfair’ realize that your children will soon  need to compete in a global workforce where their competitors are being taught to pass even more difficult tests. Your children will  see this when they compete (not apply) to get into university.

I expect that our district will soon release explanations and excuses for these low tests scores. As parents, demand to hear how teaching and education will improve so that our children will be ready to enter an increasingly competitive world.
