With an elegant, handwritten menu and cheerful decor, Robinson's Tea Room is such a popular spot that even on a weekday afternoon chances are you'll find a short wait for a table. Here's what this Patch editor ate for lunch on Friday afternoon.
The Dish: Spinach quiche with salad ($10.95) and butterscotch scone ($3.95)
What's Inside: A huge portion of spinach-and-cheese quiche, served with a fresh green salad and a cantaloupe slice. The butterscotch scone, soft in some spots and lightly crispy in others, came straight from the oven. An iced raspberry tea ($2), naturally sweet and a bit tart, pairs well with the quiche while a small pot of hot cherry almond tea ($3.95) complements the scone.
Eat this Because: You enjoy a good, savory quiche; this one, made fresh as one of the daily specials, certainly qualifies. And who doesn't love a warm scone served with clotted cream and jam? The atmosphere at Robinson's, both cheerful and elegant, is part of the charm of eating there.
