Carolina Berszakiewicz, 21, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 21-year-old pre-med student who was set to graduate in May from Stony Brook University died early Saturday morning in a car crash in Brooklyn, according to a report published Sunday in The Statesman, a Stony Brook student publication.

Carolina Berszakiewicz was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident at about 3:12 a.m. Saturday on Johnson Ave. The driver of the vehicle she was riding in, Sebastian Worwa, 19, was arrested and charged with vehicular manslaughter. Worwa, whom Berszakiewicz was dating, is in stable condition at Elmhurst General Hospital.

Berszakiewicz's father, Jan, told The Statesman that she came from a family of doctors, and said she planned on becoming a plastic surgeon.
