Adrienne Hubbs, Community Volunteer, Loses Battle With Cancer
The East Setauket resident was 86 years old.
Adrienne Hubbs of East Setauket died Dec. 10, 2010 after a battle with cancer. She was 86 years old.
A resident of East Setauket for more than 40 years, Hubbs was known for her caring personality and sincere love for being involved with the community. She was involved with , an organization which provides home-delivered meals to people in need.
"Meals on Wheels delivers five days a week and she would cook weekend meals herself for clients on her route who didn't have anyone to prepare meals for them on Saturday or Sunday," said Pamela Schoeneman, Hubbs' friend for over 35 years. "She used to visit hospitals and shut ins to deliver Holy Communion and just give her time to listen to them and pray with them."

Hubbs also loved dogs and was a supporter of the .
She is survived by her sister, Eleanor Hubbs, and her nieces, Andrea Mehling of Buckingham, Pa., and Eleanor Vorobej of Rockville Centre. Funeral services were held Dec. 15 at .
