5 Things to Do this Week

A look at what lies ahead in the Three Village community.

This week, school's in full swing as summer winds down, the Civic Association begins its monthly meetings again, and the anniversary of 9/11 is on people's minds. Here's a look at how those ideas are reflected in the community this week.

1. In recognition of 9/11, students at Ward Melville High School will be creating a flag display in front of the school on Monday at 12:25 p.m.

2. The Civic Association of the Setaukets and Stony Brook will meet for the first time since June at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Emma S. Clark Memorial Library.

3. The Three Village Board of Education will meet on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the North Country Administration Center.

4. The Setauket Fire Department will host its annual 9/11 memorial ceremony at Station 3 on Tuesday evening at 7:30 p.m.

5. The comes to West Meadow Beach on Saturday at 10 a.m. (raindate Sunday). Individuals and groups are encouraged to come help clean up the beach after a long, hot summer. Latex gloves and trash bags are provided; long pants and closed shoes are recommended.
