You Can Rebuild It

Because June is “rebuild your life” month I thought it was fitting to talk about that today. Starting now, look at your life, what is working and what isn’t? What stressors are getting in your way and not allowing you to have the life of your dreams? Many things get in our way but attitude has a lot to do with how our lives turn out. What you say to yourself about things that happen in your life has a lot to do with how you experience your life. In other words, your attitude matters--it can create or eliminate stress to a great extent! People have either an internal “locus of control” meaning you generally are an optimist, or you have an “external locus of control” or are a pessimist. Optimists believe positive things happen because of what they do themselves. It comes from within and they believe they made the good things happen. So If they are promoted at work they acknowledge that it is because they did a good job, put in the work and deserved the promotion. If they continue to do this it will happen again. Pessimists believe that it is out of their hands and that life and things happen to them. If they were promoted at work it was because they were lucky, and not because of something they did. Therefore they don’t believe in the future it is likely to happen again. They believe they have no control over events. Generally you are born with the glass half empty or the glass half full tendency, however luckily, you can change that. You can learn to see things from the optimistic point of view. To start to rebuild your life and change your beliefs start adopting healthy habits and self-care. This will help you to live longer, feel better, have more resilience, reducing your stress. A healthy body helps a healthy mind. When you adopt healthy lifestyle changes you will have more energy and feel good. This will help you to control your self-limiting beliefs and start making the positive changes you want for your future. 1. Start using self-care strategies. When you are busy it easy to forget about taking care of yourself. Start by making yourself a priority.
2. Start a healthy diet. By eating right you will have better nutrition which will start to make you feel better. When you feel better you think better.
3. Get regular exercise. Go for a walk. It’s June and it’s not only beautiful out it smells beautiful! Go out around the neighborhood and smell those flowers.
4. Drink water. Number one step towards feeling good is to make sure you stay hydrated.
5. Get enough sleep. When you are rested you are better able to handle what the day may bring.
Try a few of these steps. Send me an email and let me know how you are doing!
