Part of everyday life is the pursuit of happiness. Talk about stress. We cause a lot of it just by holding on to everyday worries. It takes a lot more energy to hold a grudge, remember to stay angry and to strive for perfection, than it take to just let go and enjoy the moment. Ever wake up in the morning after a particularly bad day the day before and actually forget for a moment that it was a bad day? Then you say "oh yeah, that happened……..” You then have to use energy to remember to be angry or disappointed. We put limitations on ourselves when we don’t accept things for the way they are. And I don’t mean we have to accept all situations, I just want you to see situations for what they are and use the following steps to make them less stressful.

Wanting the approval of others. In most instances, who cares what others think? If you are happy with the decisions you have made, then so be it.

Anger and Resentment. Anger will eat at you from the inside. Learn how to make peace with those who have wronged you. “Keep in mind that he who angers you, controls you.”

“Life becomes easier when you learn to accept an apology you never got.”

Perfection. There is not perfect life, no perfect partner, no perfect job. Life is what you put into it. It is up to you to create what you want and be who you want to be.

You probably won’t be rich. Money can’t be your sole motivator. Look for the other things that can bring you fulfillment. Not that you need to stop working, but realizing most people don’t make millions and striving for a well-balanced life can take a lot of the pressure off.

No excuses. You want it? Then do it.

Procrastination. same as above

Negativity. Stop thinking of life as a glass half empty, but rather, half full. You have so much to be grateful for, if only you took a moment to appreciate it. Anything is possible in the mind of a positive thinker.

Being Jealous. Happiness is not having what you want; it’s wanting what you have. Stop envying others and learn to appreciate what you have. Everyone’s life is unique; you have certain things to offer that others cannot. When we act in a jealous manner, all we do is bring negative feelings into our lives. There is absolutely nothing to gain from behaving this way.

Need for Control. Life is going to happen. Let it. Stop spending you’re your time worrying about things that are out of your control.

Expectation. If you let go of certain expectations than you can’t be disappointed. If you go into an experience with an open mind than you won’t be disappointed with an unexpected result.
