Food Drives and Collections for Thanksgiving

-Our Daily Bread soup kitchen at St. James R.C. church in Setauket is collecting food donations. Those wishing to donate can drop items in the church basement and can leave a turkey in the freezer in basement

-Three Village Food Pantry locations are accepting donations:

Arrowhead Elementary School

Hours: 8am – 2pm, Drop at Main Office 

Minnesauke Elementary School

Hours: 7am – 2pm, Drop at Main Office 

Murphy JHS 

Hours: 8:30 am – 2:30 pm, 

Drop at Guidance Office. Items to donate are food and toiletries. Some examples of what you can donate: Juice Boxes, Paper Towels, Bottled Water, Toilet Paper, Peanut Butter, Shampoo, Jelly, Conditioner, Rice, Soap, Kidney Beans, Toothpaste, Condiments, Mouthwash, Cereal, Canned Fruit, Jello/Pudding Snacks, Granola Bars, Cake Mix, Nuts, Pancake Mix, First Aid Items, Salad Dressing, Deodorant, Tissues, Aluminum Foil, Laundry Soap, Dryer Sheets, Plastic Wrap.

-In support of Island Harvest’s annual Turkey and Trimmings Collection Campaign to help feed Long Islanders struggling with hunger during the holiday season, Lake Grove's Panera Bread is among the many Long Island locations accepting non-perishable food items and frozen turkey donations now through Christmas Eve, Dec. 24.

Donation bins have been set up for boxed and canned foods; frozen turkeys can be donated at the counter.
