Ward Melville Nabs Top Awards in National Journalism Competition

Melville only school in state to place in contest.

Out of more than 2,000 entries submitted nationally, Ward Melville high school yearbook students earned 16 write-off placements at the Journalism Education Association Write-Offs Competition.

They were the only school in the state to place in the contest.

The Write-offs, a competition hosted by the Journalism Education Association at its fall and spring high school journalism conventions offer a number of categories for student to compete including journalism writing, graphic design to photography and broadcast. Only one student per school can sign up for each category.
