Local Stop & Shop Helps Fight Hunger With Island Harvest Food Bank
Sales of $10 pre-packaged boxes will help feed needy this holiday season.
The Setauket and East Setauket Stop and Shops are partnering with the Island Harvest Food Bank, Long Island’s largest hunger relief organization, in this year’s Turkey and Trimmings Collection Campaign to help supply holiday style meals to those in need.
By purchasing a $10 pre-packaged box, available at any Long Island Stop & Stop store throughout November and December, customers will help Island Harvest provide struggling families and individuals with all of the trimmings necessary for a typical holiday dinner.
Long Islanders are also encouraged to donate a turkey, supermarket turkey coupons, non-perishable food items, supermarket gift cards or money to help Island Harvest in its mission to end hunger and reduce food waste on Long Island. For more information visit: www.islandharvest.org.
