Caring Fifth Graders Sweeten Up Halloween

These students helped to make Halloween a treat for kids at Stony Brook Children's Hospital.

Halloween just got a little sweeter thanks to some thoughtful students at Minnesauke Elementary School.

On Wednesday, students in Mr. Schaentzler's fifth grade class decorated personalized get-well cards and made goodie bags for the kids at the pediatric center at Stony Brook Children's Hospital.

Together they made 24 cards and assembled over 40 goodie bags filled with candy, pencils, stickers, erasers, pretzels, sugarless lollipops and other treats, all donated by parents and students.

The goodie bags were distributed at the center's Halloween parade to kids who weren't able to participate in Halloween trick or treating.
