Annual Candlelight House Tour Celebrates 35 Years

The annual house tour begins Dec. 6. Tickets are on sale now

It is one of the most beloved Three Village Holiday traditions and this year the Three Village Historical Society’s Annual Candlelight House Tour marks 35 years.

Tours of six private homes; two in Setauket, two in Old Field and two in Stony Brook, as well as the Stony Brook Community Church will be part of this year’s celebration. Homes will range from mid-nineteenth century through the early twentieth century and will be decorated for the holiday season.

The Friday evening tour features all six private homes, with light refreshments at each, plus a celebratory buffet dinner afterwards at the Three Village Inn. A limited amount of tickets are available for that tour and cost $80 for members and $100 for non-members.

On Saturday December 7th, there is a choice of two tickets. The Saturday Breakfast ticket includes breakfast at the Stony Brook Yacht Club (celebrating its Centennial in 2013) from 8:30 am to 10:30 am.  Ticket holders are then welcome to begin the tour at 10 am. Saturday Breakfast tickets are $50 for members, and $60 for non-members.  The third choice is a Saturday ticket, which enables viewing the houses from 11 am to 5 pm.

Prices are $35 for members and $40 for non-members. The Stony Brook Community Church will be open on Saturday for the tour, and the United Methodist Women will be serving lunch for purchase from 11 am to 3 pm.  In addition, their annual Christmas Tree Sale will be on the lawn.  Stop by the church to purchase the Society's 2013 Photo Calendar, a great gift, and a raffle chance. The Long Island Museum will also continue their tradition of opening its doors to Candlelight House Tour ticket holders all day on Saturday.
