NYC Art Scene Opening Reception

Gallery North is pleased to present NYC Art Scene, an exhibition showcasing cross-cultural creativity, innovation and fine art.  Guest curated by Jacquelyn Lipp, Streetwater Arts, this exhibition will feature the work of four Manhattan based artists.  On display will be the unique creations of Matthew J Mahler, John Small, Clintel Steed and Paul Zepeda.  By introducing a new contemporary perspective, Gallery North is further expanding its artist reach and geographic presence, while creating an original experience guests are sure to remember.

Long Island native Matthew J Mahler’s work reflects a continual curiosity of symbols and their assigned meanings in western civilization.  He has been featured in several solo exhibitions and co-founded Small Black Door, an experimental art space.  John Small seeks to “blur the lines between natural history and pseudo science, creating a collection of work that represents a fictional expedition.”  Clintel Steed is known for his powerful paintings that address real world issues and evoke strong emotions.  Paul Zepeda delivers work that has captivated audiences throughout the country, by combining conventional studio techniques with modern chemical processes.

Gallery North’s NYC Art Scene will integrate urban art into a suburban setting, blending two worlds together.
